What to do with foreboding and doom?

Hello, all! It's been the craziest thing the last week or so- like all the world is hanging around a serious cross-roads. So what's anyone to do? The church in America has for the most part splintered in some grand divide-and-conquor scheme by a very clever devil. Most Christians are so distracted they don't have time to pray for themselves, let alone for anything else. Our cover is down, the walls are broken, and evil is stirring.

So, we remember:

The joy of the Lord is our strength.
Love one another.
Pray without ceasing- just try it- keep a running conversation going with God.
Remember Israel and her people in all nations.
Rejoice in the Lord alway.
Pray for the leaders.
Pray for each other.

All pretty basic and easy stuff, right? So why is it so hard for us to accomplish any one thing on so short a list? God help us. Just try, folks- limit distractions to what's really important. We may just see some things happen- good things. God be with you all.

She's in her 40s- don't she look great?

Hee, hee. I used to tell everybody that when my mom was my age- 37. She really did look great- like she was in her early 20s. I'm not so young looking as she was, but I sure don't feel like I'm 37. Unless I try to do a cartwheel. Then...

Well, we had an awesome Christmas holiday season. From Hannukah to Eastern Orthodox Christmas, all full of joy and gladness, good cheer and crazy gift ideas. It was weird when it was over. And now school is back in full blast, the house is a disaster, and I'm another year older. Today. I haven't answered the phone for two days. Birthdays are hard for me. So, I spent yesterday writing (by hand) and today doing assignments and watching old X-Men cartoons. It was the kind of peace I needed. And the kids enjoyed themselves. Jim's sick, so he enjoyed the relative quiet. I never figured I'd live long enough to have grandchildren, grey hair, and be pushing 40. Funny old world. :-)

Um, updates... The New River froze solid. Rapids and all; like it was flash frozen. It was really beautiful. Tonight it finally warmed up enough to snow. All it has been really since Christmas break has been school, school, and more school. We get outside, too, but it's not been anything really much to BLOG home about.

Oh, and GO, ISRAEL!!!!

Well, I reckon this old girl had best be gettin herself to bed. I hope y'all have a good and warm night. God's blessings to you all.
